Editing Cover Photo

After capturing our desired photo and uploading it to photoshop we added some effects to make the photo look even better than the original. A red tint was placed across the image and we also reduced the darkness on the photo slightly as we felt although the original photo was a good shot it was too bright to convey the image we wanted.

Here is what the photo looked like originally and although a good photo some changes had to be made to it.

We then adjusted the levels of the photo too make the blacks stand out as you can see this photos colours stand out a lot more than in the original photo giving it a distinctive edge.

After this we then added a red tint to the entire cover photo by altering the colour balance on photoshop. We used the red as it is the colour of blood and we wanted to make our magazine that little but scarier which I believe we achieved.
